Abstract

The fermentation training on making alternative feed from banana stems aims to increase the nutritional value and utilize banana waste as animal feed. This training involves socialization, practice of making fermented feed, and feeding to livestock. This service activity involves students participating in the Real Work Lecture (KKN) with the target activities of native Papuan women in Wenda Asri Village. The method of activity is in the form of training, making and mentoring for mothers who have livestock. the results of this service activity show that there is still a low level of knowledge and skills of the community to utilize waste both from households and plant wastes in community plantations to be utilized to produce productive milk. By fragmenting banana stems into animal feed, it becomes an educational value for the community to get the availability of animal feed, that animal feed is not only obtained from green grass but can be from artificial feed. Another advantage of this process is the economic benefit of reducing the costs incurred by the community to buy commercialized animal feed at high prices.
