Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Melalui Pelatihan Keterampilan Kerajinan Tangan Berbasis Bahan Lokal di Kota Merauke
Abstract
Community empowerment is key in improving welfare, especially in economically challenged areas such as Merauke City. The local material-based handicraft skills training programme aims to harness the potential of local natural resources and improve community skills. The training involves various parties, including local government, non-governmental organisations, and community leaders. The socialisation results showed high enthusiasm from the community. The training, which involved basic craft-making techniques, product design, business management and marketing, significantly improved participants' skills and income. Evaluation and monitoring showed that the programme not only improved product quality and income, but also established a wider marketing network. This success reflects the importance of participatory and collaborative approaches in community empowerment. The programme also supports the preservation of local culture through unique handicraft products. In conclusion, the handicraft skills training programme based on local materials in Merauke City has a sustainable positive impact, both in terms of economic, social and cultural aspects. This programme can be used as a model for community empowerment in other areas with similar potential.
