Sosialisasi Media Sosial Sebagai Perangkat Kampanye Digital Kepada Pemilih Pemula Dalam Tahapan Pelaksanaan Pilkada Kabupaten Merauke Tahun 2024

This article discusses the role of social media socialization as a digital campaign tool aimed at novice voters in the context of the implementation stages of the 2024 Merauke Regency Regional Elections. Generation Z as a novice voter has characteristics that are very close to digital technology and social media, making this social media platform something strategic to convey political messages effectively. This study uses survey-based data collection and the implementation of focus group discussions (FGDs) involving novice voters in Merauke Regency. The results of the activity show that socialization that is packaged in an interactive and data-based manner is able to increase political literacy, understanding of the election process, and critical awareness of digital campaign content. These findings explain that social media is not only a communication tool, but also a relevant political education medium for the younger generation. Therefore, this approach is worthy of being used as a sustainable strategy in order to strengthen local political and democratic participation in the digital era, especially for novice voters in Merauke Regency.
